How I Got Started...

​​My name is Kimberly Needles of Kimberly Needles Photography. I have been a professional photographer for 20 years.
I have loved taking photographs since I was a child. I was always known as the "one with the camera" and like Mary and her little lamb, my camera was sure to go. My great-grandfather was an avid photographer who took pictures all over the world.  He would teach me the inner workings of the camera every time we would visit him in Richmond, Va. I was immediately hooked and had to know more about the artform.

When my career started in 2005, I would mainly capture my son, family, small weddings to get the experience I needed.

Since 2014, I have been photographing for the Miss Virginia Opportunity (Miss America Organization), preliminary pageants, Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival and events for the Town of Middletown Va.

Since 2015, I have sponsored the photography at the Shenandoah County Fair in Woodstock , VA.

In 2018, I was asked to be a still photographer for the behind-the-scenes footage of the following movies:

I have received many awards for head shots, high school seniors and wedding photography. I have traveled internationally for my work.

My work has been published in Win Magazine, World Class Beauty Magazine and Centerfold Beauty. Last fall, I photographed for Robbs Report Magazine.

For the past 10 years, I have been nominated for Best Photographer in Winchester, VA.
